Dr. L. Clayton Wengert, D.V.M.
Dr. Wengert was born and raised in a small town in northwestern New Mexico called Bluewater where his parents were involved in Agriculture. However, for his senior year in high school he attended Juarez Stake Academy in Colonia Juarez, Mexico. He graduated there. He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the LDS church) for two years in the Texas Dallas Mission. He did his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. He later attended Veterinary School at Oregon State University and Washington State University. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May 1989.
Hobbies and Interests: I enjoy most sports, but particularly playing basketball. I tell people that I play once a week because it usually takes me a week to recover. I enjoy hiking and this past summer I hiked the Catalina Mountains from south to North, about 30 miles. I also enjoy gardening until it gets to hot in southern Arizona.
Favorite Book: I enjoy reading at night until I fall asleep (which is usually within 15 minutes). I enjoy all different kinds of books but like history the most.
Favorite Food: My favorite food has to be Mexican but I also enjoy anything that I can grill or smoke.
Favorite Vacation Spot: My favorite vacation spot is Rocky Point, Mexico.
